The Final Four is Set, Time to Catch Up
This is my favorite time of year for sports. Although I do a better job of keeping up with football in the regular season, basketball has my heart from the minute March Madness kicks off. In case you haven’t been obsessively checking your bracket the way I have, here’s a cheat sheet for all your water cooler talk.
What is it?
March Madness. The Big Dance. It’s one of the biggest sports events ever, bringing together 68 of the best men’s college basketball teams in a bracket-style, one-and-done tournament.
The Best Part so Far:
Wisconsin’s Nigel Hayes, who’s having way too much fun at his team’s press conferences. First, he trolled the note-keeping stenographers by answering a question with some big vocabulary words, then he got caught with a live microphone whispering sweet nothings about a lovely lady in the audience. He’s just way too charming and (if you ask me) totally knows what he’s doing.
Who’s in the Final Four?
Wisconsin, Duke, Michigan State and the big favorite, Kentucky. Although Kentucky’s been squeaking by in the last few games, so I wouldn’t place any bets.
Now what happens?
Those four teams play in Indianapolis on April 4. The location was decided a long time ago, but the NCAA can’t be too happy with the recent anti-gay legislation in Indiana (Charles Barkely is definitely not a fan).
Should I watch?
Yes, there are some epic matchups as Kentucky takes on Wisconsin and Duke battles Michigan State. So throw a party or hit your favorite pub. Kentucky, Wisconsin and Duke are all #1 seeds, which means we knew they were pretty good going into this, but don’t count out the #7-seeded MSU Spartans.
