The Best Kept Plating Secret: Scrapbook Paper

I’ll never be the kind of bride to register for wedding china. It’s just not my thing. All of the plates and servers in my cupboard are white ceramic. Boring? Sure, if you leave it alone. But white serving ware is plenty exciting if you know how to juge it up a bit.

Just take the pics from this wedding shoot on Style Me Pretty, for example, where the dessert table pros from Eat Drink Pretty fancied up plain white wares with squares of blue paper to befit a vibrant blue and yellow color palette.

You can do the same thing on your own service pieces with scrapbook paper. The 12″x12″ sheets should be plenty big enough to cover the inside of your biggest plates. Just trace your servers on the back of each sheet, then cut 1 to 2 inches inside to leave some white border showing.

Love it – we have all white plates and I’m always wondering how to mix it up a little. Since chargers are so big this works perfectly.
I’ll have to try it at our next party.
