If I had a signature drink, it would be beer. But since that doesn't really qualify as a cocktail, I'm totally adopting the Shandy. It's like an alcoholic Arnold Palmer. Half beer, half lemonade—and 100 percent refreshing. It really is

Cadbury Cream Eggs, Homemade!

Cadbury Cream Eggs were always the highlight of my Easter basket growing up. They still are, really. Even now that I'm grown up and don't need an Easter basket, I still make an excuse to pick a few Cadbury eggs

Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes

These didn't start out as St. Patrick's Day cupcakes. They started out as "make these for a friend who is freakishly obsessed with car bombs"-cupcakes. But since her visit in town coincided with the week before St. Patrick's Day, I

The “Snack Morris” Cupcake

You ever notice how sometimes thoughts and conversations can go on tangents? How you can start talking about the semi truck you just passed on the highway, and then without missing a beat end the same conversation talking about manicures

Hello welcome to my dining room that everyone thin Hello welcome to my dining room that everyone thinks is outside when they see pictures because it gets such good light. I do not take that for granted. Thank you, skylights. Not pictured: The zero closets (zero!!), two square feet of kitchen counter, and how you cant run away for alone time when you have a fight with your partner. This is loft life.

We’ll put it back together soon though. But in the meantime I’ve been getting dressed not based on how things look but how they feel. And that’s been strange but fun. I’m not sure I’ll keep it up when the stakes are higher than “someone I know might see me at the grocery store,” but it has felt spiritually good to not have a full length mirror for a while. ⁣

I don’t know what the lesson here is, except when you’re decorating don’t get stuck on the way things have always been or the rules about what needs to go where. Move things. Remove things. See how it changes not just the way your space looks but the way your spirit feels. ✌️
